Counselors Are Being Overwhelmed Nationwide

For counselors stretched thin with impossible-to-manage caseloads, every second counts.

The American School Counselor Association recommends caseloads of less than 250 students for every counselor.

In just three states is that happening.

But we know counselors in New Hampshire, Vermont and Wyoming — and given everything counselors are supposed to do to support their students, it’s a struggle to keep afloat even in those states.

That’s why AdvancePath is giving counselors the ability to see who needs help with their post-graduation planning, where they are in the process and where they want to go — all in an easy-to-understand format and easy-to-implement program that every school can afford.

“Counselors have an absolutely indispensable role to play in college and career planning, and it’s heartbreaking to hear from so many who say they simply can’t keep up with their huge caseloads,” Graduation Alliance co-founder and chief academic officer Rebekah Richards said. “That’s why we developed AdvancePath, which is designed to put a lot of information at  counselors’ fingertips, allowing them to focus on what they do best: counseling students about their futures.”
